Corbo’s Bakery in Little Italy has been a beloved staple for decades. They are known for their cassata cake and coconut bars as well as breads, Italian cookies, pizelles, and other delicious baked goods. They would bust out some savory food during the Feast, but you could only have their baked goods year round. That changed a little while ago (I’m guessing during the pandemic, but don’t quote me on that). They opened a small brick and mortar pizza and pasta take-out spot in Little Italy across from Trattoria’s patio as well as one on Mayfield in Mayfield Heights just past Brainard Road and the shopping area with Skyline Chili and Scalper’s and one on Euclid next to Connor Palace Theater.

I live at the top of the Hill, but choose to drive to the Mayfield Heights location for my take-out (I could probably order DoorDash or UberEats, but I’m trying to not be so lazy). When you order, be sure to select the correct location on the website! The Mayfield location is also a take-out spot with no seating (well, one table but it isn’t for dining in). The one time I accidentally ordered from the Little Italy location I called because I could find parking and they ran it out to me while I parked in the no-parking zone in front of Trattoria’s patio/parking area.
My favorite thing on the menu is Momma’s Kisses, small pouches of pasta stuffed with prosciutto & mozzarella. I also upgrade to the Blush sauce, which is a mixture of cream and tomato sauce. The little pouches remind me of the sacchetti at Michaelangelo’s, but it is much more affordable. The first time I ordered this, they were out of the prosciutto pasta pouches and just had cheese. I loved it despite the lack of protein (prosciutto).
I had to order the cavatelli and meatballs since everyone raves about them during the Feast. They did not disappoint. The cavatelli had a nice hefty bite but weren’t too heavy, and the meatballs had a good spice level to them.
They are also known for their pizza. Their best seller is the Joe Chunks pizza, which features double pepperoni and mozzarella on red sauce. Since I’m not a huge fan of pepperoni, the next time I ordered I decided to get the Heavy D pizza, which features pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon & mozzarella on red sauce. I added tomato and spinach to it to add some veggies, and it was delicious. It wasn’t Congin’s, but it was definitely better than most take-out pizza places around the Cleveland Heights area.
The Italian wedding soup was nothing to write home about. It sure wasn’t like any Italian wedding soup I’ve ever eaten anywhere else. In fact, it looks more like a cabbage soup. The salad was also your basic side salad with cheese.

Both times I’ve ordered from the Mayfield location my order hasn’t been ready when the website quoted it would be. I can’t say anything about the Little Italy location because I was a little later since I had tried to find parking.
Also, don’t bother ordering White Cake from the Mayfield Heights location. They haven’t had any cassata cake or other white cake when I’ve been there. I don’t remember seeing any cannoli either. They have Italian cookies, cheesecake and other desserts. If you have a taste for dessert you might want to call them and ask what they have available.
